UMSC SWIM LESSONS

UMSC Diving LessonsSwim Lessons at the Upper Moreland Swim Club are intended to teach the fundamentals of swimming in a fun and safe environment while encouraging pool safety as well as courtesy to other swimmers. Student participation is encouraged through one-on-one and group activities as well as through games.

Relay - UMSC SwimPlease be advised that all requests for lessons at a specific time cannot always be accommodated. Students must be at least 5 years of age to enter the program. Classes average 8 students to every teacher but may vary. Every class will have at least one certified lifeguard as an instructor. Students are expected to follow the standard operating procedures of UMSC. Failure to do so may result in removal from the swim lesson program. Lessons run Monday through Thursday; Friday will be used as a rain date. Lessons run for 45 minutes. We do not refund lessons missed by the student. Please see the Swim Lessons Director, Mike Deasey or Mr. Israel, Manager with any questions.

If you have scheduling problems or a special situation we can arrange private swim lessons with one of our lifeguards. Please stop by the office when the club opens or e-mail the webmaster to inquire further. Private lessons typically run 30 minutes, cost $10 per half-hour, and are taught by a lifeguard. They are taught only during club operating hours and work best at non-peak times. Please include the name of the student, age, and intended lesson times in the inquiry. Please keep in mind that we ask for private lessons to occur in late afternoon or early evening as to avoid crowds and mobbing on teachers by other children in the pool.
