UPPER MORELAND SWIM CLUB

Fellow Members,    

For those of you that are first year members, welcome. For those returning families, welcome back. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for making the Upper Moreland Swim Club the wonderful place that it is.

As we move closer to a new season, there are some things you should know. After many years, Steve Grant has retired from the position of President. We are so grateful to Steve for his hard work and dedication. Through the off season, we have completed the renovation of both bathrooms. If you recall, we upgraded both rooms with new partitions and made them handicapped accessible. This year both locker rooms were completely painted, the sinks in the ladies room were moved, the old mats were removed, and a new non-slip floor was installed. We hope that this will make these rooms both pleasant and easy to maintain. The old mats will be used in various locations around the club, so they don’t go to waste. The diving boards have been resurfaced, so they are in great shape for both our members and our diving team. There are some other projects the Board is considering if time and budget permit. These include new windows for the snack bar and a new hot water system.

Please refer to the News Letter in your packet for opening times and dates, as well as the list of activities scheduled for this season. Please take note of the date for swim team registration, and practice times. If your children have not participated on the team, please consider it. There is no better way to improve swimming, make friends, and generally enhance the pool experience than the team. Also, Family Day will be held on July 21. Family swim races are in the early afternoon, and a spectacular dinner is served around 4:00 P.M. - half of a chicken, cooked to perfection and all the trimmings a good B-B-Q should have. Please mark it on your calendar as a day not to be missed.

The Board of Directors and I wish you and your family a happy and safe 2012 season. We look forward to seeing you throughout the year, and are interested in your thoughts and observations.
