The Berkoff pool boasts a diving well with two boards and a twisty-tube water slide. It's named for David Berkoff, a past UMSC member and an Olympics gold medalist in 1988. This is our main recreation pool, and remains open when the Gators swim team is competing in the Tillman pool (the diving well is closed for Gators diving competitions). It hosts special events like float nights, coin dives and the popular swimming with Santa during Christmas in July.
The Tillman pool is our 25-meter competition pool. It hosts our Gators swim team during home meets and practive sessions and is used for swim lessons. It's also home to our family day swim races and our cardboard regatta boat races. The rest of the time, it's open for recreation, including two lap lanes reserved for daily exercise. Adult swims are held in this pool weekend afternoons to give our adult members some time to relax and enjoy moments of tranquility.
Our baby pool is specifically for use by our youngest members and is gently graded for children under age 5 who aren't ready for the Berkoff or Tillman pools just yet. It has a spray area to add to the fun, and several shaded benches for parents and caregivers to supervise the fun while keeping out of the direct sun.
On those blazing hot days when it's just too hot to cook, retire to the Gator Grille. Our snack bar has a fully operational kitchen complete with cheese steaks and pizza as well as candy and Tanner's ice cream! We also serve veggie burgers. We accept cash, Visa, and Mastercard, too.
