Occupation: Police Officer

UMSC Member for: 7 years

Board Experience:  I was on the board of Cub Scout Pack 17. I was the Range Safety chair. I was also in the running to be the head chair of the Pack, but my son decided he wanted to pursue other interests.

What skills would you bring to the board?  Management; Social Media/Marketing/Fundraising; Board of Director Experience

Why are you interested in joining the board: Hi there. A little about me. I have been a bonded member of UMSC for 7 years. I have been a resident of UM for 9 years, but my wife and I have family that have been residents of UM for 70+ years. I am married to my wonderful wife, Amy, and we have 4 amazing children. I love UMSC. I also see the potential that UMSC holds. I feel as though with me on the board, I can bring my experience with other organizations to the table to help to maintain and improve the swim club. I have been involved in a few local organizations, both on the BoD or supporting those on the board. I’ve ran concessions and help organize and run fundraisers. I have a back ground in restaurant management. The grounds have so much potential to bring more fun and enjoyment to the members and their friends/families. I can help organize fundraisers to bring those visions to light so that we can focus on using the budget for the day to day operations, but also improve the club. I will do what I can and work with the other UMSC board members to make sure that UMSC is one of the best swim clubs in the area! I look forward to serving the membership!

Why are you interested in joining the board: I have been President of the Board for the past six years, and I am committed to building and growing our swim club. In my time as President, we've made important investments and improvements that have made our club stronger, and I want to keep this progress going. My interest in serving comes from my passion for our club and the relationships I've developed with our members and community. Over these years, I have learned a lot about how our club works, the challenges we face, and our opportunities to get better. I am motivated by all the positive changes we’ve made, from facility upgrades and the swim and dive program to putting solid structures in place for our future. Still, I know there is more to do, and I want to help us build on what we've done while meeting the new needs of our members and being fiscally responsible. My experience has taught me how to lead the club, work with lots of different people, and make choices that keep our budget on track while making members happy.

Occupation: Teacher

UMSC Member for: 9 years

Board Experience: This would be my first

What skills would you bring to the board? Management; Social Media/Marketing/Fundraising; Coaching /Pool  Management

Why are you interested in joining the board: I  want to join the board of directors because I care deeply about the UMSC community and its success. For the past nine years, UMSC has been an important part of my life, not just as a place to swim, but where my family has made lasting memories at the pool, social events, swim lessons, and Gators meets. Lately, I’ve gotten more involved with the swim team and started learning the League Representative role, which has helped me see how much work it takes to keep UMSC a great place. I would like to help guide and support the club’s future so it stays a joyful, well-run “summer home” for my family and others. As a teacher, I manage people, schedules, and responsibilities, and I’m used to communicating clearly. I also have experience with budgeting, fundraising, and making choices about priorities. While I haven’t managed a pool before, I am confident I can help with club operations, social media, and making UMSC strong and organized.
